Preliminary Interviews

The first step of the process was to gain an insight into the participants life.

Environment

The interviews were conducted at a cafe near our participant and in her home. These spaces were inviting and comfortable for her, providing a relaxed and informal atmosphere while allowing her to take care of her child.

Topics

The first two interviews had no task to be completed but rather we prepared different questions and subjects to discuss and during the conversation shifted between them and dwelved into new ones as we saw fit. The aim of the sessions was to step into her shoes for a second and to gain insight into her daily life, her hobbies, what she enjoys and dislikes and any issues she might be having that could be solved.

Takeaways

As a result of the first interview we found 5 areas of interest that we could design around. We carried out the literature review, giving us a better idea of data regarding these 5 topics and got to know the case owner's personal experience with them in the second interview.
